They say “Time heals all wounds,” I say, “bologna.”
Time might lessen a bad memory or remove a daily reminder or make you forget the intensity of the offense but time does not heal.
Jesus heals. Jesus reaches for you when others reject and turn their backs on you. Jesus loves when you feel unloved and used and washed up. Jesus reminds you who you belong to. Jesus helps you recall truth and reminds you fear is a liar.
Jesus heals. He is the balm, the ointment, the medication. He’s the restorer, the rescuer, the rebuilder.
So when you’re tired of waiting on time to heal you, when you’re finished waiting on apologies, when you’re done trying to self medicate your heart and hurt—run to the healer.
Run to Jesus.
