God Can Handle All of You

It had been a while since I had a good cry. You know the kind where your tears flow faster than you can wipe them off your face. A combination of hurt feelings and grieving for a friend with a side dish of worry, had brought me to this place. This place of weeping.

Everyone deserves a good cry now and then. Sometimes we cry out of remorse or sadness for our own actions and sometimes because of the actions of others towards us. Sometimes we cry because we are happy and sometimes it’s because we are just plain old sad. We weep because of death, sickness, loss and unanswered prayers. And occasionally, we weep because we are happy, satisfied and thankful.

There is a purpose in our tears. The cleansing that comes from those drops of water is healing, refreshing, even comforting. I am thankful God created our bodies to need this release. I am thankful God is equipped to handle the tears and heartaches. He actually welcomes them.

He has counted them He has put them in a bottle (Psalm 56:8)

One day he will wipe them all away (Revelation 21:4, Isaiah 25:8, Revelation 7:7)

Tears turn to joy (Psalm 126:5)

Jesus wept (John 11:35)

Weeping endures for the night, joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5)

We can serve the Lord through tears (Acts 20:19)

God hears those who cry (Psalm 34:15)

Jesus was moved to action by tears (John 11:33)

Crying in secret for others (Jeremiah 13:17)

God delivers those who cry (Psalm 116:8)

The list is endless of all the benefits of crying out to the Lord. Whether you need a good cry or just need to be reminded that God can handle your tears, fears and worries. He’s ready and uninhibited by your sobs and cries to him. He can handle all of you.
