Thank you!

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you. 1 Thess. 5:18

Many of us spend an abundance of time searching for "God's will" for our lives. Yet, there are plenty of things that he tells us through His Word are his will for us.

Giving thanks is one of them—but not just in the good times. But in EVERYTHING. EVERY. THING. And immediately that verse becomes a challenge. Yet, for a Christian we should have an endless list of things we can thank God for.

Difficult experiences can be big opportunities to dig deep into God's goodness and reflect on his faithfulness, his character and his sovereignty. It is his desire for us to give thanks during these times. It gives perspective and a reminder that he is good.

It's easy to give thanks when the bills are paid, the kids are behaving, the husband brings you flowers, your laundry basket is empty, you get a raise at work or you're on vacation—and you should give thanks—even in those small things because his will is in EVERYTHING give thanks—big and little.

So maybe today we can have a thanksgiving day right here in the middle of April. Comment below with something you're thankful for today—big or small. Because after all he has done for us, we have the privilege of giving thanks in our abundance.
